Are Minors allowed in Las Vegas Casinos if they are not gambling?
Yes, they are allowed in Las Vegas Casinos under two conditions: They must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older AND They must keep moving, no stopping to look at a game of any kind. They are allowed to use the casino as a pathway not as a destination. Let’s face it, minors should not be brought along on the Vegas Vacation. It is easy to find things to occupy minors under the ages of 13 or so, like the Adventure Dome at Circus Circus, the many arcades all over Vegas, the free shows all over Vegas but it is very difficult to keep the attention of the tween and teenager. They have a strong desire to see what is going on in the Casino. A lot of Adults traveling with these minors are often the ones at fault by allowing them to pull a chance at a slot machine or press some buttons on the video roulette machine, give them a taste of the fun. The fault also is with Las Vegas itself, the marketing, the years of studying how to get People to gamble more, drink more, party more and love Las Vegas more. Did You ever wonder why You have to walk though the casino after You check into Your hotel? Did You ever wonder why the walk was so long and why You had to walk by almost every gambling machine in the casino? I am sure You understood it wasn’t really necessary but the Hotel Casino did it on purpose to get You to drop those bags off and hurry back to the machines. The “cool” Parents might even share a drink with their teenager and do some Vegas bonding but just cannot understand why that same teen is arrested for underage drinking. Downtown Las Vegas is now struggling with underage drinking and They wonder Why? It was all in the marketing plan, the plan works!
If You ever go to Las Vegas on New Years, You will see hundreds of minors in the casinos, sitting in the chairs of the gambling machines and even laying on the floors. Las Vegas is overwhelming at New Years and they do not have the man power to do anything about the minors so You just have to deal with it.
